"
COURT IN THE ACT"
is the title of 5 one act plays to be staged at the Boilerhouse theatre in mid April 2007.
The plays were written by Eve Old some twelve years ago and at the time were performed at Gisborne, Whittlesea, Mooney
Ponds, Kilmore, Daylesford and at several "Sip n Sup" festivals in Sunbury.
The plays are fondly remembered by the casts and audiences of the day. Each play is built around an actual case heard by
a magistrate in the Sunbury Courthouse some 150 years ago.
We will require a Magistrate, Clerk of Courts, Sargent, Bailiff, a Guard and about 20 other cast members, males and females
of all ages to be our plaintiffs and witnesses of different classes, snobs, prudes, drunken priests, slushies and rous abouts
This is a golden opportunity for some people who normally don’t "get on stage" to have a go. It’s a lot of
fun.
